- The Occupational Safety and Health Agency is a regulatory body under the Ministry of Labour.
- An OSH Inspector is not required to inform a company/organisation in advance of an inspection.
- Although the Act is called the ‘Occupational Safety and Health Act,’ it is not referred to as the “OSHA Act.” It is, in fact, part of the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
- The OSH Agency is authorized to take legal action against anyone who violates the OSH Act.
- All complaints submitted to the Agency are kept confidential unless stated otherwise.
- Companies/organisations can submit requests for an Inspector to give a presentation on safety and health topics.
- Complaints can be submitted in person at any of our offices without the need for an appointment.
- All forms and brochures are available on the Agency’s website.
- Our hotline is available 24/7 at 612-3900.
- While the Agency enforces the OSH Act, it is ultimately each individual’s responsibility to ensure their own safety.
